Konzept

Das zweite zu bebauende Gebiet befindet sich im Zentrum der Stadt Alghero und liegt ca. 50 m vom Lido entfernt. Die Aufteilung des Gebietes erfolgte in sechs Baufelder unterschiedlicher Größe und Qualität. Die Anordnung und Größe dieser Baufelder sorgt für die Entstehung eines Platzes, welcher für Wochenmärkte oder andere Aktivitäten genutzt werden kann. In unmittelbarer Nähe des Platzes befindet sich ein Einkaufszentrum. Dieses grenzt direkt an den neu entstandenen Platz an
und bildet durch seine Dreigeschossigkeit eine klare Kante.
Ziel des Entwurfes ist es, eine Siedlung mit hohem Verdichtungsgrad entstehen zu lassen, welche insbesondere durch flächige und gereihte Verdichtungsformen charakterisiert wird. Diese Art von Verdichtung wird wiederum durch eine Anzahl von rechteckigen und
L-förmigen Hofhäusern erzeugt. Die Hofhäuser definieren sich folgendermaßen: Der Mittelpunkt des Hauses ist meist der nicht überdachte Hof, welcher durch die Grenzmauer des benachbarten Gebäudes oder durch eine geschoßhohe Trennmauer vor der Sicht der anderen geschützt ist.
Die Trennung von Privat und Öffentlich erfolgt durch klare Anordnungen der Räume innerhalb der Gebäude. Das heißt, alle privaten Räume sind zum Hof gerichtet, die öffentlichen Räume sind dagegen jedoch zur Straße hin angeordnet.
Das komplette Grundstück wird vom jeweiligen Haus und dem dazugehörigen Hof eingenommen. Die Häuser sind jedoch fast in allen Fällen so konzipiert, dass sie die Möglichkeit zum Anbau bieten. Somit wird eine flexible Umgestaltung des Grundrisses ermöglicht. Alle Höfe der Häuser werden durch die Ein- oder Zweigeschossigkeit der jeweiligen Gebäude ausreichend beleuchtet. Die Aneinanderreihung der Hofhäuser mit ihren jeweiligen Fassaden und geschosshohen Mauern bilden eine klare Kante zur Straße. Somit entsteht eine deutliche Grenze, welche wiederum ein homogenes Bild erzeugt.

Abstract
The second building area is located in the center of Alghero, situated approximately 50 meters from the Lido. The Territory was divided into six plots of different size and quality. The arrangement and size of the plots provides for the creation of a place, which can be used for weekly markets and other activities. Right next to the Square you can find a shopping center. This verges directly to the newly created place and forms a clear edge by the three-floors.
Aim of design is to allow a settlement of high degree of temporal compression, which is particularly characterized by flat shapes and ranked compaction. This type of compression is produced by rectangular and L-shaped courtyard houses. The courtyard houses are defined as follows: The center of the house is usually the non-covered courtyard, which is protected by the boundary wall of the adjacent building or by a storey-high dividing wall and is hidden from prying eyes.
The separation of private and public takes place by clear arrangements of the rooms inside the building. All private rooms are directed to the court, the public rooms are located on the opposite. The entire property is occupied by their house and the related court. Mostly the hoses are designed to offer the possibility of cultivation. Therefore a flexible floor plan of reorganization is possible. All courtyards of the houses are lit by the one-or two storeys of each building. The juxtaposition of the courtyard houses with their facades and storey-high walls form a clear edge to the street. This creates a distinct boundary, which in turn creates a homogeneous image.
