Vorstellung der urbanen Lebenswelt im Entwurf Notion of the aspired urbanity

Jan-Hening Laaser, Nicolas Padinha (Der Rundkurs als Signatur / The circuit as a signature)

Two parts of the new district connected by a green space continuing the landscape corridor in an urban shape from the Neue Vahr in the north to the southern allotment gardens across the Ludwig-Roselius-Allee.

Lena Niemeyer, Julia Weber (Wohnen auf der Rennbahn / Settling on the racecourse)

The hippodrome is reduced to the urban scale of a central square in this new district. At this place, we found the focus of several spatial relations, such as an axis up north to the “Berliner Freiheit” the local shopping centre of the district Neue Vahr with the Aalto-tower.

Cagla Gökalp, Faisal Safaruddin (Fleet und Hippodrom / The fleet and the hippodrome)

The idealization of a fleet course meandering from the Neue Vahr and the interpretation of the horse race track as urban shape, these are the central motives apart from that regularity of an urban layout.
