MASTERSTUDIENGANG - ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN
Bremen Hastedt – Industrious City
Hanseatic Eco-Park
Maja Abbo, Winter semester 2021/22 – Technion

The project presents a new interpretation of the Hanseatic League in which trade partnerships developed between city-states. The new design creates a network of industrial-eco parks between the three port cities: Hamburg, Bremen and Bremerhaven. This network will create a symbiosis of sharing knowledge, energy and materials from a single park to the large network which will continue to expand and develop. In this case study I will focus on the Bremen industrial area which has been converted into an eco-industrial park that includes new programs of farming production, transportation, retail, research, education, temporary residence and public space. The national bike path that runs through the Weser is linked to a new promenade that takes the public into the industrial area through points of scenic places and continues to the historic romantic-road that was a medieval trade route.
