Gefüge aus 5-geschossiger Bebauung mit Quartiersplätzen. Veränderung der Verkehrsführung. Wiedereröffnung des nördlichen „Canal Saint-Felix“. Verlegung der Bahntrasse.
Five-storied urban fabric with several neighbourhood squares. Transformation of the traffic-system. Reopening of the northern “Canal Saint-Felix”. Shift of the railway alignment.

Gates to Garden Housing – Les portes aux jardins >>>
Eine Mischung aus 4-5-geschossigen Stadthäuser mit Gewerbe in den Erdgeschossen und darüber liegenden Wohnungen. Intime Wohnsituationen aus Hofhäusern in den Blockinnenräumen. Inspiriert vom Quartier l'Arc-de-triomphe in der Stadt Saintes (Frankreich).
Mixture from 4- to 5-storied Townhouses with commerce in the ground floor and residential use above. In difference courtyard houses spending intimate situation in the inside of the blocks. Inspired by the quarter l'Arc-de-triomphe in der Stadt Saintes (France).

La Croix libre – Das freie Kreuz – The open cross >>>
Die Figur der früheren Klinik Hôtel-Dieu wird zu einem Freiraum bis zum Flussufer transformiert. Der Mittelpunkt des neuen Quartiers bezieht entlang von Arkaden gesäumten Boulevards die Nachbarschaft mit ein.
The figure of the former hospital Hôtel-Dieu becomes a public space until the riverside. The middle of the new quarter gives orientation to the neighbourhood lined with boulevards of arcades.

Vom Giganten zur Freiheit – From Giant to Freedom – Du géant à la liberté >>>
Das Raumgerüst eines neuen Stadtquartiers orientiert sich am Grundriss des Hôtel-Dieu. Der Quartier Madeleine wird nach Westen fortgesetzt und über einen Boulevard mit dem neuen Stadtviertel verbunden. Große Blöcke werden für Gewerbeflächen im Inneren vorgehalten.
The grid of the new district is built on the former figure of the Hôtel-Dieu. The quarter Madeleine is extended to the west and combined with the new district by a Boulevard. The interior of the wide blocks is reserved for commercial premises.

Crossing Quarters – Traversant des quartiers >>>
Unter Beibehaltung des Hôtel-Dieu von Michel Roux-Spitz werden zwischen den Hochhausflügeln neue Quartiere gebildet. Der nordöstliche Quadrant bildet das neue Entree zum Hochhaus mit einem Quartiersplatz.
With the ideal of continuance of the Hôtel-Dieu from Michel Roux-Spitz new quarters will be established in between of the wings. The north-eastern quadrant will be provided as entry to the high rise and as square of the quarter.

Connection – Connexion >>>
In Verlängerung der räumlichen Aufweitung der Rue Bias ensteht ein Platz um die vorhandenen Chapelle de l’hôtel-Dieu. Als besonderer Akzent (Point de vue) am Wasser bleibt der Hubschrauberlandeplatz erhalten.
In extension of the spacial enlargement by the Rue Bias a square around the Chapelle de l’hôtel-Dieu will be formed. As specific accentuation at the riverside the helideck will be preserved.

SimpliCity – La Cité-simple
Drei Quartiersplätze öffnen die dichte Stadtstruktur: Ein zentraler Platz wird zum Mittelpunkt, ein kleiner Platz dient der Nachbarschaft und ein weiterer Platz öffnet sich als Terrasse zum südlichen Flußufer.
Three squares giving an opening to the density of the new district: one gains the central point, a little square for the neighborhood and one like a open terrace to the south river.

L'arc de connexion – connecting arc >>>
Vom Westen aus der Rue Bias kommend wird ein Raumkontinuum bis zum Quais Moncousu entlang des Flussufers eröffnet. Den Auftakt der Raumfolge bildet die vorhandene Chapelle de l’hôtel-Dieu.
From the west with the Rue Bias a sequence of space to the waterside at Quais Moncousu is created. The prelude of this space continuum is given by the existing Chapelle de l’hôtel-Dieu.

Les Maisons nouvelles – New buildings
Die kleine Chapelle de l’hôtel-Dieu wird neben anderen Solitären jeweils einem Stadtplatz zugeordnet. Das Gefüge des Quartiers bezieht seine Grundordnung aus der heutigen Lage des Hôtel-Dieu.
The little Chapelle de l’hôtel-Dieu is like other little monuments orientated to one new square. The basic order of the district comes from the present position of the Hôtel-Dieu.

Die Klinik Hôtel-Dieu von Michel Roux-Spitz wird erhalten und wie ein topografisches Element in die Bebauung eines profanen Stadtquartiers integriert, ähnlich den Kathedralen im Mittelalter.
The Hôtel-Dieu from Michel Roux-Spitz will be preserved and induced like a topographical element in a profane urban structure similar to cathedrals in the middle ages.

Opening the city – Ouvrir la ville
Zwei große Stadtplätze charakterisieren das neu Stadtviertel. Ein Raum nimmt die platzartigen Konturen der Rue Bias auf, der zweite Platz bezieh sich auf das Ufer der Loire.
Two large squares giving the character to the new district. One follows the spatial out-line of the Rue Bias, the second is orientated to the bank of river Loire.

L’Hôtel Disparu – The Absent Hotel
Die aufgegebene Klinik Hôtel-Dieu formt als historische Spur den neuen Stadtteil. An der Mitte des ehemaligen Kreuzgrundrisses entsteht ein zentraler Platz.
The abandoned Hôtel-Dieu gives form as historical trace of the new district. Beside the midst of the former crossing arises a new square.
