This topic is present an information about city history, city development and public space in the city Haifa, Israel.

The city of Haifa has belonged to Israel since 1948 as an independent city, during which time the state of Israel was founded. Haifa known as a mixed city, where three ethnic groups: Jewish, Arabs and mixed live together. It is one of many cities in the state of Israel, which Jews form a majority of the population.

The city Haifa existed since antiquity and in the middle of the 18th century. The Landscape has an important role on the city development. The city planning of Haifa became a central part of the colonial project, as an extension of western modernity into non-Western world. While the colonial attempts to transform the landscape, the National is trying on the basis of a far-reaching political agenda. The new national program was designed to improve the living conditions of the city dwellers while creating completely different cityscape. The result is a mixture of modern and antique architecture.


Haifa is also known as city with the most tolerant. In order to bring together the different ethnic groups, Beit Hagefen (arab-jewish culture centre) arrange festival „Holiday of Holidays“ every December. The Festival takes place in public space Wadi Nisnas and Germany Colony, which are populated mostly by Christian and Muslim.
