A summary of Bernard Rudofsky's Streets For People - a primer for Americans. In this book, which he dedicated to the unknown pedestrian, Rudosfky shows the style and impact of streets, boulevards and other public spaces all over the world. The main focus of the 17 chapters is the comparison of American and Euorpean strees. Rudofsky points out flaws in the planning of american cities and streets with various examples and often mentions Italy as a pioneer and role model for spaces that are designed for the pedestrian.
