A big part of our urban environment is roadside greenery. It is part of road safety, reduces erosion, is a habitat for animals and its design is crucial for the appeareance of our cities. Roadside greenery often connects public and private realms. In this interspaces the legal aspect frequently isn't obvious, therefore it isn't easy to design or maintain. Today cities are mostly made for cars and roadside greenery covers huge areas of land. Because of stressed budget plans of local governments this greenery often is ragged or gets reduced to its simpliest, easiest to handle and cheapest form: gras and trees. This areas are not worth caring about and are used as illegal rubbish dumps by people. Below you can see different situations in german cities where you often drive by, but dont look at.
